On the Van-Krevelen/Hoftyzer Relationship for the High-Temperature Limiting Viscosities of Polymer Melts
The van Krevelen/Hoftyzer limiting viscosities (T --> infinity) of polymer melts are often lower than the high-temperature viscosity of low-molecular weight liquids or the viscosity of air at 20 degrees C and 1 bar. The origin of this surprising result is discussed.
