A parametric study of the synthesis of 4,4 ＇,5,5 ＇,7,7 ＇-hexanitro-1,1 ＇-binaphthyl
Conditions for the synthesis of 4,4＇,5,5＇,7,7＇-hexanitrobinaphthyl (I) from 1,1＇-binaphthyl have been investigated. It has been found that (I) can be prepared in 50% yield in a two-stage nitration process.
