The layout of a "single" fragment generator is described for testing of warheads with high explosive filling or rocket motors with propellant charges. The suggested fragment generator needs a relatively small amount of high explosive, which gives no blast load on targets at 3 m distance for example. Their achieved fragment velocities are well reproducible and the fragments have sufficient aiming accuracy with only very small fragment deformation by the detonative acceleration. It can be an ideal tool for vulnerability tests, where more violent reactions have to be expected.
