Effect of linear velocity of gas on the ammonia oxidation over cobalt oxide catalyst.
Ammonia oxidation over the cobalt oxide catalyst has been studied at 800 degrees C. The process occurred at external diffusion region for linear velocity varying from 6 to 25 m/s (at normal conditions). It has been stated that nitrogen is formed mainly at heterogeneous reactions, For higher linear velocities the content of nitrous oxide in the reaction products decreases and selectivity of the ammonia oxidation to nitrogen oxide increases.
