Catalytic activity of various organo-metallic catalytic systems for the synthesis of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (PEUHMW) are compared and properties of polyethylenes synthesized in presence of those catalysts are discussed. It has been stated that highly active catalysts for PEUHMW synthesis were vanadium-aluminum systems deposited on the complex magnesium support.
