Sorption of organic vapours by macroporous and hypercrosslinked polymeric adsorbents
Inverse gas chromatography was used to study the sorption of hexane, 1,2-dichloroethane, tetrachloromethane and pyridine on macroporous and hypercrosslinked polymeric adsorbents in the range 70-150 degrees C, From the specific retention volumes, the differential enthalpies of adsorption and adsorption isotherms of some molecular probes on polymeric adsorbents have been estimated. It is shown that both above and below the glass transition temperature, T-g, bulk sorption takes place in the case of hypercrosslinked copolymers.
