Removal of 2,4-D from aqueous solutions by micellar flocculation with alpha-olefinsulfonates
This paper describes the use of alpha-olefinsulfonates (AOS) in the removal of the pesticide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid from aqueous solutions by adsorptive micellar flocculation (AMF). The removal occurs by adsorption of the pollutant during flocculation of AOS micelles in the presence of Al3+. AOS is the second surfactant found to be susceptible to use in AMF.
