Model solar vehicles provide motivation for school students
This article will discuss the development of a project in which school students design, build, test and enter in competition model cars powered only by solar energy. The initiation of the concept, distribution of solar materials to schools, organisation of the Australian events including raising sponsorship, race regulations, vehicle design concepts, track design and construction, establishment of support systems for teachers, developing media interest in the project, teacher and student feedback will all be considered.
