Electrocatalytic Conversion of Methane to C2 Hydrocarbons in O2- and H+ Solid Electrolytic Cells - Electrokinetics and Mass-Transport Limitations
As a fundamental approach to the electrocatalytic dimerization of methane in a proton-conducting solid electrolyte cell, the electrokinetics for the AgSCYAg cell, where SCY is ytterbia-doped strontia-ceria, was examined at 600-700-degrees-C for 100% H-2. Exchange currents, limiting currents, and their dependence on temperature were measured.
