A New Way Extending Working-Life of Oxygen Sensors in Melt
A novel method of extending the working-life of oxygen sensors used in melt has been developed. Making use of the reversibility of oxygen concentration cell with solid electrolyte, polarization and exhaustion of the reference electrode can be eliminated or reduced by a short and small recharging current between the EMF measurements, so that the working-life of the oxygen sensor can be extended over ten times.
