Neutron-Scattering Techniques for the Investigation of Proton Transport Phenomena
Modern neutron scattering techniques are capable of providing structural and dynamical information on complex molecular systems over 3-4 decades spatially and 8-9 decades temporally. Much current work is concerned with the properties of hydrogen bonds, the dynamics of protonated groups, mode coupling effects, and hydration processes. The scope of neutron studies in this area is outlined, followed by a discussion of selected results illustrating experimental advances.
