Three types of intercalation compounds were prepared by reaction of VOPO4 . 2H(2)O with aniline. Water molecules, neutral aniline molecules, protonated aniline ions and polymerized aniline were taken up into the interlayer space. Although aniline molecules were polymerized in the interlayer spaces, the electric resistance of the product at room temperature was very high.
