SrCe1-xYbxO3-alpha (SCYB, x = 0, 0.025, 0.05) sinters were prepared with efforts to prevent the introduction of impurities from starting materials and working media. Impedance measurements were carried out in the temperature range 500-1250 K in different atmospheres. The density and the conductivity of SCYB without doping were lower. Conductivity increased with doping content. The activation energy was 0.55 eV for x = 0.05; 0.59 eV for x = 0.025 SCYB samples, lower than most reported values. At higher temperatures, the effect of atmosphere on the conduction became noticeable. The variation in conduction was also apparent in EMF measurements using hydrogen concentration cells.
