The hydrogen uptake of Yb doped strontium cerate was studied in situ by thermogravimetry at different temperatures and water vapour pressures. In contrast to earlier descriptions, the mathematical analysis results in a lower effective vacancy concentration than that expected from the dopant concentration and a nearly perfect ideal solution behaviour.
