Ionic Association in Oligo(Ethylene Glycol)-Lithium Triflat Solutions as Studied by FT Raman-Spectroscopy
The symmetric stretching mode of the SO3 groups and the Li-O breathing mode of LiCF3SO3 in oligo(ethylene glycol)(n) dimethylethers (EG)(n)DME with n = 2, 3 and 11 as well as oligo(ethylene glycol), dicyano acetate ((EG)(9)DCA) were studied as a function of ether oxygen to lithium ratio and temperature by means of FT Raman spectroscopy. The ratios of free anions, ion pairs and higher aggregated ionic species were quantitatively determined. The part of free anions decreases with increasing salt concentration and with increasing temperature. It is higher with (EG),DME n = 11 than with n = 2 and 3 as well as with (EG)(9)DCA than with (EG)(11)DME.
