Ion-Transport in Glassy Electrolytes
Experimental and theoretical advances involving electrochemistry and ion transport in glass are briefly and selectively reviewed. particular attention is paid to the problems of incorporating glasses in solid state batteries, and to the way changes in ionic conductivity can either be predicted or modelled theoretically. It is suggested that recent developments in theory, which relate ion mobility to glass structure, could lead to the discovery of new phenomena and to future practical developments in ’grassy ionics’.
