Adsorption and oxidation of SO2 on a CeO2-Al2O3 solid have been studied by IR spectroscopy and gravimetry. Addition of CeO2 to Al2O3 lowers the temperature of formation of sulfate, increases the amount formed and decreases the reduction temperature by H-2.
