Structure and reactivity of Pr2Ba2Cu2Ti2O11
Pr2Ba2Cu2Ti2O11, a possible new superconducting parent phase, was prepared by a standard ceramic method. Intermediate products were identified by X-ray powder diffraction. Rietveld analysis revealed the layered perovskite crystal structure of Pr2Ba2Cu2Ti2O11 and the relationship to known superconductors. The physical properties were investigated by impedance spectroscopy and magnetic measurements. The redox chemistry of Fr2Ba2Cu2Ti2O11 was examined using thermogravimetry. The reduction of Cu-II via Cu-I to Cu-O was observed and a reversible re-oxidation of Cu-I to Cu-II was found.
