A new heat flow reaction calorimeter for use at low temperature and some applications of this device are described. Isothermal and temperature-programmed experiments can be carried out down to - 90 degrees C with this calorimeter. These characteristics make the calorimeter especially useful for safety assessment and optimization of chemical processes under low temperature conditions.
