Thermal analysis of a series of dipeptides having alpha-alanine (Ala) as first term, using simultaneous TG-DSC measurements and kinetic calculations by the dynamic TG technique, have been carried out. The TG-DSC and kinetic quantities, related to the decomposition processes of these compounds, were compared with those of the free alpha-amino acids contained in the dipeptides. Some information on the influence of the components on the decomposition processes of the dipeptides was obtained. The first fragmentation indicates where the decomposition processes begin.
