Thermodynamic properties of the nickel silicide NiSi between 8 and 400 K
The molar heat capacities of NiSi have been determined by low-temperature adiabatic calorimetry at temperatures between 8 and 400 K. From the heat capacity data the derived thermodynamic functions Delta(0)(T)H(0) and S-0 were calculated. At T = 298.15 K a molar standard heat capacity of 45.55 +/- 0.05 J K-1 mol(-1) and a molar standard entropy of 47.58 +/- 0.01 J K-1 mol(-1) have been found. The entropy of formation for NiSi was calculated to be -1.11 +/- 0.08 J K-1 mol(-1).
