Investigation of Phase-Transitions of Organic Fluids Confined in Porous Silicon
We report differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) experiments which were performed on organic fluids confined in porous silicon samples. The transition temperature of the confined fluid was found to be lower when compared to the bulk fluid. The effect of the doping level of Si substrate, HF dissolution or anodization time on the DSC results are also presented. Some hints for the thermodynamic interpretation of such an experiment are finally given.
