In order to clarify the structures of thin Cr films by their real space images, Cr films of various thicknesses, prepared using vacuum deposition, have been observed using a high resolution electron microscope. The amorphous chromium films were composed of microcrystallites of the order of 3 nm. The crystallite structure was delta-Cr. The well-known bcc chromium particles were observed in thick and large crystal particles. The stability of small particles is discussed.
