Excess volumes and dielectric properties for (methyl methacrylate plus a branched alcohol) at T=298.15 K and T=308.15 K
Excess molar volumes V-m(E), and deviations in relative permittivity delta epsilon (r) of (methyl methacrylate + propan-2-ol, or 2 methylpropan-1-ol, or butan-2-ol, or 2-methylpropan-2-ol) over the entire range of composition have been determined from density and relative permittivity measurements at T = (298.15 and 308.15) K. The excess molar electrical susceptibilities chi (E)(m) and molar and orientation polarizations P-m(E) and P-o(E) have been calculated by combining density and relative permittivity data for all the mixtures. The V-m(E) values are positive in all the mixtures. The delta epsilon (r), chi (E)(m) and P-o(E) values are largely negative with few initial positive values for some of the mixtures. The P-m(E) curves are however sigmoid with positive and negative regions. Similar trends in the delta epsilon (r) and P-o(E) curves are observed for all the mixtures. The variation of the correlation factor gK has also been examined over the whole composition range. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
