Collisional quenching and vibrational energy transfer in the A(2)Sigma(+) electronic state of the CF radical
Electronic quenching of the nu' = 0 and 1 vibrational levels and nu' = 1 --> nu' = 0 vibrational energy transfer has been studied at room temperature for the A(2)Sigma (+) electronic state of the CF radical. The colliders investigated were He, Ar, H-2, N-2, CH4, O-2, CO, C3H8, and CF4. Room-temperature thermal rate constants were determined. With the exception of CF4, the quenching rate constants were significant for all molecular colliders. Vibrational energy transfer within the A(2)Sigma (+) state was observed only for the CH4 collision partner.
