One of the most prominent applications of polyurethane in building construction is as rigid foam for thermal insulation -such as in sandwich panels for industrial construction or as slabstock for roof insulation. This article describes the economic and ecological importance of this high-performance insulation material and explains its constructional and physical strengths by means of its applications in roofs, walls and floors.
