Local order of Ag in AgI-Ag2MoO4 glasses: an EXAFS study
Silver iodomolybdates are under investigation in order to define a transport model for AgI-based oxide glasses. In this paper we report a preliminary EXAFS study on a glass of composition 0.66AgI:0.33Ag(2)MoO(4). The EXAFS Fourier transform shows two peaks that are attributed to the coordination with oxygen (Ag-O distance 2.38(1) Angstrom, coordination number 1.5(3)) and iodine (Ag-I distance 2.830(5) Angstrom, coordination number 1.5(3)), respectively. The present coordination numbers confirm our previous Ag-109 NMR results.
