A comparison of different systems for the beta-glycosidase-atalyzed synthesis of 3,4’-dihydroxypropiophenone 3-O-beta-D-glucoside is reported including various enzymatic sources and different reaction conditions. The best yield was obtained using thermophilic beta-glycosidase from Sulfolobus solfataricus.
