Gas turbines in combination with steam turbines are first choice for the extension or substitution of power plants. High efficiencies, minor detrimental emissions to the environment, short terms for delivery and errection and relatively moderate cost of investment speak for themselves. The perspectives are good for further development of these advantages. Together with these objectives also the availibility of the combined cycle plants will have to be improved.
