Ring-Opening Polymerization of Epsilon-Caprolactone by Bacterial Protease
The ring- opening polymerization of delta - caprolactone catalyzed by a neutral protease from Bacillus subtilis has been studied in acetone, heptane solvents or in the absence of the solvent at 50 degrees c. The lower oligomeric product containing mainly cyclic pentamer and tetramer was identified after 10 days in heptane.
