Experimental study of Marangoni effect in a liquid-liquid system
In this work is presented a method for observing directly the behavior of the interface in a liquid-liquid system and in particular the interfacial cellular convection in the system water-acetic acid-butylacetate. The technique used for visualizing interfacial turbulence is real-time dynamic holographic interferometry (HI) in Bi12TiO20 (BTO) crystal in four-wave mixing configuration. The present method is quicker and simpler than other optical methods to study interfacial turbulence.
