기능지 제조를 위한 펄프 섬유의 화학적 개질
Chemical Modification of Cellulose Pulp Fiber for Functional Paper Making

초록
최근 기능지에 관한 수요가 급증하고 있는데 대부분의 기능지는 코팅이나 라미네이팅, 블랜딩 또는 단순한 첨가제 사용만으로 만들어지고 있어 그 요구 조건을 만족시키지 못하는 실정이다. 특히 소재인 펄프 섬유 자체를 화학적으로 개질 처리하여 만들어지는 것은 매우 드물다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 개략적이나마 개질 섬유를 이용한 몇몇 기능지 제조의 연구 현황을 소개하였다. 아세틸셀룰로오스는 환경친화적으로 개질 가능하여 향후 기능지용 청정 소재로 기대되며 시아노에틸셀룰로오스의 경우에는 전기적 기능성이 뛰어나다. 이 밖에 아미노화 및 카르복실화 셀룰로오스는 이온성 재료로의 가능성이 크다. 특별히 N-클로로카르바모일에틸화 섬유를 이용한 내수지의 습윤 및 건조 강도 특성과 리사이클을 고려한 차아염소산염 처리의 효과를 함께 검토해 보았다.
In recent years, the demand of high performance papers has rapidly increased in domestic paper market. However, most of functional papers are given by the processes of coating, laminating, blending, and the additions of chemical of inorganic additives. Functional papers given by chemical modification of celluloic pulp fibers are comparatively few. In this paper, some functional papers derived from modified cellulosic fiers are briefly introduced. The preparation process of acetylated cellulose in well known to be untoxic. Acetylated cellulose also has lots of applicble chemical properties, and, therefore, and be used as a clean substrate for functional papers. Cyanoethylated cellulose fiber has good electrical property, and can be used for a base sheet for the preparation of functional papers. Aminated and carboxylated cellulose sheets are useful as ionic material. Water-resistant paper prepared by N-chlorocarbamoylethylated pulp is an good example for the functional application of chemically modified fibers. The handsheet treated by N-chlorocarbamoylethylation has an excellent property of wet and dry strength. For the recycling of wet strengthen sheet with N-chlorocarbamoylethylation, hypochlorite treatment was effective to be able to resulsh.
