Pyrolysis of rapeseed cake
In this study, biomass in the form of rapeseed cake was pyrolyzed in a fixed bed stainless steel reactor under static atmosphere at varying temperatures of 450, 550, 650, 750, and 850 degreesC and at heating rates of either 15 degreesC min(-1) or 25 degreesC min(-1). The studies reported here were aimed towards understanding the influence of heating rate and pyrolysis temperature on product yield. The maximum oil yield was observed to be evolving at 650 degreesC pyrolysis temperature and at a heating rate of 15 degreesC min(-1). The results showed the potential of rapeseed cake as an important source of alternative liquid fuel.
