Sequence length distributions (microstructure) of regioregular poly(3-alkylthiophene)s and related conjugated polymers and their use in simulating pi-pi* absorption peak profiles
The head-tail (HT) sequence length distributions (SLDs) of poly(3-alkylthiophenes) (P3ATs) and related polymers may be obtained from the H NMR spectra. The results show that the regioregular polymers, i.e., those with the highest HT content, have broader SLDs than the less regular polymers. The SLD may be used to simulate the characteristic profiles of the pi-pi* absorption peaks of P3ATs and related polymers.
