Linking two alkyne-bridged dicobalt complexes via a urea-based ligand: Synthesis and spectroscopic and structural characterization of {[Co-2(CO)(6)(mu-HC C-)]-CH2NH}(2)C = O
Treatment of Co-2(CO)(8) with HC equivalent to CCH2NH2 under mild reaction conditions yielded an unusual complex of {[Co-2(CO)(6)(mu -HC equivalent toC-)]-CH2NH}(2)C=O, 1. The structure of 1 was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. The compound 1 can be viewed as two propargylamine-bridged dicobalt complexes coupled by a carbonyl group. Obviously, carbonylation of a primary amine took place during this reaction.
