Variation of the magnetic properties of La0.5Ca0.5MnOy as a function of the synthetic route
Several La0.5Ca0.5MnOy samples with identical oxygen content have been prepared by two different routes. Magnetic measurements show that their properties are strongly dependent on the synthesis method even for materials with the same anionic composition. A charge ordering state is reported for anionic deficient samples with 40% of Mn4+. The role of Ca in such a behavior is discussed.
