Silver-exchanged zeolite Y-modified electrodes: size selectivity for anions
The cyclic voltammetric (CV) behavior of silver ions encapsulated into zeolite Y (NaY) has been investigated in aqueous solution containing different anions. It was found that the electroactivity of silver ions relied on the solvated anionic radii. Cl- and Br- anions suppressed the electroactivity of silver ions. PMT- (1-phenyl-5-mereaptotetrazole) and SO32- anions, however, had little influence on this, which implies that silver-exchanged zeolite Y-modified electrodes have a high selectivity for Cl- and Br-anions.
