Supramolecular architecture of a silver(I) coordination polymer supported by a new ligand containing four tris(pyrazolyl)methane units
The new ligand, 1,2,4,5-C6H2[CH2OCH2C(pz)(3)](4) (pz = pyrazolyl ring), that links four tris(pyrazolyl)methane groups in one molecule has been prepared and been shown to react with AgBF4 to yield the coordination polymer {1,2,4,5-C6H2[CH2OCH2C(pz)(3)](4)Ag-2(BF4)(2)}(n). The supramolecular structure of this compound is composed of infinite chains of 32-atom metallomacrocycles each containing two silver atoms and four kappa (2)-bonded tris(pyrazolyl)methane units (see figure), arranged in an ordered architecture by C-H . . .F weak hydrogen bonds and pi-pi stacking interactions.
