Co-metabolic biodegradation of trichloroethylene by Methylosinus trichosporium is stimulated by low concentrations methane or methanol
Co-metabolic biodegradation of trichloroethylene by Methylosinus trichosporium OB3b was stimulated by low concentrations of methane (up to 70 muM) or methanol (up to 0.4 mM) but inhibited at higher concentrations of them. A kinetic equation describing the dual effects of methane or methanol is proposed and the relevant kinetic constants have been determined.
