When generating power from fossil or renewable fuels, the focus is on proper design of high temperature processes. In this field, power plant manufacturers and their sub-suppliers have a lot of know-how. Nevertheless, outsourcing of parts of the high temperature process design and development to specialists can make sense. This is shown using the Deutsche Montan Technologie GmbH as an example.
