Disintegration of liquid jets from a coaxial dual nozzle .2. Surface wave and its frequency analysis
This work is the second part of a series to investigate the disintegration of a liquid jet from coaxial dual nozzles. By employing a new approach of frequency analysis, the development of surface wave motions and the breakup mode of a liquid jet from single and coaxial dual nozzles have been discussed. The regularities of the surface wave and disintegration ill the liquid column were evaluated with the power spectrum and autocorrelation of wave signals obtained by a photo sensor. The characteristics of surface wave development in the liquid column of dual nozzles were observed ill every breakup mode of the jet. In the case of disintegration with high regularity, the breakup length was shortened. By using coaxial dual nozzle, the possibility of controlling the breakup length or. disintegration mode as well as the internal velocity profile was achieved.
