Heat capacities and densities of alpha,omega-dibromoalkanes as functions of temperature - A group additivity analysis
Densities rho and volumetric heat capacities C-p/V of a few alpha, omega -dibromoalkanes (1,2-dibromoethane, 1,3-dibromopropane, 1,4-dibromobutane, 1,5-dibromopentane, 1,6-dibromohexane) have been measured within the temperature range 288-328 K using a vibrating tube densimeter and a differential scanning calorimeter, respectively. The molar heat capacities at constant pressure, C-p, have been obtained by combining rho and C-p/V data. The C-p group contributions for the CH2 and Br group have been determined by the group additivity analysis.
