Excess enthalpies for mixtures of 1,4-dicyanobutane and an aromatic hydrocarbon at T=298.15 K and p=101325 Pa
Excess molar enthalpies for (1,4-dicyanobutane + benzene, or methyl benzene, or 1,2-dimethyl benzene, or 1,3-dimethyl benzene, or 1,4-dimethyl benzene, or ethyl benzene) at T = 298.15 K and p = 101325 Pa are presented. The excess enthalpy ranges from a maximum of 246 J.mol(-1) for ethyl benzene to a minimum of -17 J.mol(-1) for benzene. The Redlich-Kister equation, the NRTL and UNIQUAC models were used to correlate the data. The contributions of pi-pi interactions and steric hindrance to the results are discussed.
