Flow and Interfacial Surface Contact Characteristics of Ammonium Exchanged Bentonite Suspension According to Hectorite Contents
A synthetic composition of high ammonium ion content and stable suspension was made by addition of hectorite. Surface contact angle and flow behavior was experimented. According to plot of log η vs. log γ of the suspensions, the descending linear regions of the plot can be described by the power-law equation. From the value of linear descending slop and surface contact angle according to ammonium and hectorite content, optimal synthetic composition having high wettability and low viscosity were derived.
