The limitations of classical nucleation theory have stimulated the research for improved theoretical models. We review the droplet models commonly used in calculations of the rate of homogeneous nucleation from vapor. The asymptotic models, Semi-phenomenological models and the Lothe/Pound formalism are also reviewed.
