Lessons learned from frac packs in the Campos basin
The full-length paper presents the state of the art in frac packing learned from more than 100 frac packs performed in the Campos basin offshore Brazil. Reservoirs in the Campos basin are clean, tertiary-age unconsolidated sand-stones with high to ultrahigh permeability. To obtain low-skin completions, high-conductivity fractures must be created. Since the first frac-pack job in February 1996, many challenges have been overcome.
