Waterflood surveillance: Behind casing resistivity measurement at Elk Hills
This project used cased-hole resistivity measurements to identify, isolate, and develop behind-flood-front oil in wells that watered out as many as 10 years before. The A3-A6 reservoir at the Elk Hills field has produced by use of peripheral waterflooding for 20 years. Reserve development now targets bypassed oil through the use of cased-hole resistivity measurements.
