Oxidation of lower alkanes over MoO3-V2O5 supported on YSZ-aided membrane reactor
MoO3-V2O5, binary oxides were deposited on the Au anode of the electro-chemical cell using yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) as a solid electrolyte, and tested for the oxidation of C-2-C-4 alkanes under the oxygen pumping conditions at 500degreesC. When the MoO3-V2O5 binary oxides were deposited by reactive sputtering method from pure Mo and V metals, several mixed oxides were formed on the Au anode, among Which MoV2O8 showed the activity of oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane and propane to the corresponding alkenes.
