Demineralization and separation of amino acids by electrodialysis with ion-exchange membranes
We have used electrodialysis for the separation of amino acids mineral ions and sugars. It is an important problem at the last stages of biotechnological production of amino aphids. We consider two effects that allow one to solve the problem of separations. The "barrier" effect makes it possible to obtain a demineralized product containing amino acids and sugars. To separate sugars and amino acids we suggest using the effect of conjugative transport of amino acids with hydrogen and hydroxyl ions at the values of current density higher than the limiting one (facilitative electromigration).
