The pneumatic conveying characteristics in a vertical tube have been determined using iron ore particles. A pressure drop decreases as the height increases along the accelerating region, while it remains constant at all heights in the fully developed region, An axial pressure drop increases with increasing solids circulation rate at a constant gas velocity. The model is proposed to calculate the axial pressure drop and accurately predicts the experimental axial pressure drop profile.
